wanna follow me?
i applied for pinterest a while ago after running across it on a few blogs, but by the time i got my invite, i'd gotten distracted, surprise, surprise.
until the other day!
Kat from Iron Craft posted about a project that she did last year called 30 Days of Creativity.
30 Days of Creativity is a social initiative encouraging people to create stuff (anything) every day for 30 days in June.
Your brain is like a muscle. When you exercise it, it gets stronger.
sounds fun, huh?
since obviously my june isn't already busy enough (wtf amy?) i decided that it would be fun to join in as well. which leads me back to pinterest! while people are also posting links on twitter (follow the hashtag #30daysofcreativity to see), pinterest is more fun, where they've created a board for every day and folks pin their daily results to the board.
i didn't post about new year's resolutions this year, but a few years ago i made a resolution to do something creative every day, whether that was working on ongoing projects, planning projects, or even just blogging about projects, something. i've continued on with that resolution every year, but looking back now, i can't imagine even needing to make that resolution! (however, i completely failed at the "make something for yourself every month resolution")
so yeah, i don't need the motivation of this initiative, but i think it will be good to specifically think of what i've done each day, and it will force me to document it better, which i'm admittedly bad at. you guys have no idea how many little projects i never get around to posting!
for Day 1, i made the salad bowl sling in my previous post. today, for Day 2, i didn't complete a project, but i DID make quite a bit of progress on a larger project. i finished 9 giant blocks for a future quilt, and hopefully tomorrow i'll get them sewn together. i'm hoping i'll be able to sandwich it next week, and start on the actual quilting. hopefully!!
