i have been sorting buttons for two days now. that's not all i've done, but frankly, it's been what i've done the majority of!
yesterday was a crappy day healthwise, so i tried to take it really easy. i went and volunteered in the evening, and whew, that wiped me out. by the time i got home after the 2hrs, i was hurting so bad that i just settled myself on the couch with my massive box of buttons and some ziplock bags and went at it.
(this box is seriously overflowing, and i have another that's probably half full. it's an illness, i swear!)
today was more of the same, both health wise and button wise. plus, i think i've watched more tv in the past two days than i have in the past month....
however, i am finding SO MANY cool buttons! i need to photograph them, and make molds of some of them. and i haven't even gotten to grocery bag full of the REALLY cool ones! (i'm saving them for last, they're my reward for FINALLY getting my button collection somewhat organized!)
(these are the bags with mostly super cool ones in them. the wheat has already been separated from the chaffe so to say! um, is that how the saying goes? i should know that....)

Oh! Buttons are a weakness of mine too, but I don't have nearly that many! I have a giant jar I'm filling with my super special ones, the rest are in tins and jars and are used for projects! I'd love to come help sort your buttons!
wow, I thought I was the only one with millions of buttons... I am happy to see that there's more button lovers out there!
i *heart* beautiful buttons! What a very fun collection! i used to *love* going through my mom's tin of old buttons . . .
It's good to know that I'm not alone in being button crazy! Great giveaway.
LOL this is funny to read the other comments on here. I saw your picture of buttons and I started to drool. They are a weakness of mine, that is only encouraged by my grandmothers who keep building button collections and then giving them to me... what am I to do but just love them and keep them forever and ever!
I want to play at your house though... those look like fun. How far are you from Washington state?
Snap, yesterday was my volunteer day as well. My last one, unfortunately, due to upcoming lack of car. I've been helping a refugee women's group learn to use sewing machines. I'm going to put some photos from my last day on my blog at some point in the next 36 hours. After rinsing the nappies, washing the dishes, putting out the rubbish, sewing for my market stall...
I love it! And I have containers, and containers of buttons, you definitely have me beat!
I love buttons too, if you ever want to part with any let me know ;)
I am a bit envious. I do not have a button collection, unless you count those extra buttons that come on new clothes that I have thrown into a bag just in case I ever need it!
I wish I had a button collection like that...well, maybe not that big, then I might be overwhelmed. But my son is on a button sewing kick right now, and I don't have enough to please him.
My mom had a button collection from her grandmother. We loved looking through it and playing with it as a child
Oh your button stash is awesome! I love using buttons in my scrapbooking :)
